Fraunhofer Academy

Introduction

The Fraunhofer Academy is the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft’s specialist provider of continuing education and part-time training for people in employment. The Fraunhofer Academy offers specialists and managers outstanding courses of study, certificate courses, and seminars based on the research activities of the Fraunhofer institutes in collaboration with selected and prestigious partner universities.

Continuing education and advanced training – the Fraunhofer approach

Learning to handle new technology and new techniques is an essential part of the innovation process. The Fraunhofer Academy understands that it takes real expertise to channel the innovative potential of research findings into a company’s day-to-day operations. The Fraunhofer Academy works together with prestigious partners to make sure specialists and managers have the qualifications they need. Established by the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft to provide part-time training, it offers a unique opportunity for specialists and managers to transfer knowledge from Fraunhofer research projects directly into their own company. In this context, the “knowledge generators” take on the additional role of “knowledge communicators”. In addition to academic credentials, the Academy also offers professional certificate courses as the second core component of its overall training program. These transform industry’s current requirements for modern production processes into hands-on training courses. As the importance of certified, expert validation increases in key industry sectors so too does the demand for recognized part-time qualifications in the advanced training sector. The third component of the Academy’s training program comprises seminars held over two or more days which provide practical, evidence-based know-how that can be directly applied to your everyday work.

Our courses are divided into five thematic areas:

  • Technology and Innovation
  • Energy and Sustainability
  • Logistics and Production
  • Manufacturing and Testing Technology
  • Information and Communication
