Part time Masters Degrees in Nanoscience 2021

A Master’s degree in Nanoscience permits graduates to work in different industries. This is because the field is becoming less and less specific with the abundance of new products that make use of nanotechnology. Students will learn about nanoscale phenomena and can include subjects in the realms of chemistry, nanoelectronics or biophysics.

In the MSc in Nanoscience, you will work together with world-class scientists: top researchers from the Zernike Institute for Advanced Materials provide education in the courses. Top researchers also provide supervision in four individual projects, in different research groups. Also, our program is the home of the 2016 Nobel Prize Winner in Chemistry, Ben Feringa, and the Nobel Prize winner in Physics, Frits Zernike; Spinoza Prize Winner Bart van Wees teaches in several of the given core courses. The MSc in Nanoscience is built upon the research cycle: ranging from design to synthesis, and device building, characterization, and research, to the theoretical foundation and improved design. It is a selective Master's degree: that assures you are studying as a cohort in a small but very motivated and talented group of (international) students. Our program is a 2-year full of partial scholarships for all admitted students. Also, we are among the top-3 of all Master's degree programs in the Netherlands 5 years in a row (Dutch Higher Education Guide 2019). -

Our aim is to prepare high-level professionals in the field of material science for academia and industry, a researcher who can synthesize new material, do extensive characterization, and make data analysis and theoretical modeling using state-of-the-art computer technologies. Being one of the leaders in the field of synchrotron-based techniques we offer over students to participate in real experiments and do internships at world-leading synchrotron radiation sources in Russia and Europe. We believe that a synergy between the traditionally strong "scientific school" and extensive international mobility and collaboration is at the heart of the great number of successful stories of our students. -
