Course overview
The Master of Psychological Science (Majoring in Business Psychology) equips learners to understand the human dimension of the challenges they will face as current or future leaders.
The programme core has a strong focus on the application of psychological principles to solving problems and achieving desired outcomes across a variety of organisational and professional settings, while the business psychology major applies psychological theory and research practice to core business activities such as management, human capital, and marketing.
Graduates will be equipped with the knowledge and skills to perform effectively across a range of business functions, particularly as leaders and managers.

Entry Requirements
- Completion of an AQF level 7 psychology-based bachelor's degree at this or another University within the past 10 years.
- Applicants with a bachelor's degree in a subject area other than psychology, or with a psychology-based bachelor's degree completed more than ten years ago, will be eligible for entry to the Master of Psychological Science (Majoring in Business Psychology) upon successful completion of the Graduate Certificate of Psychological Science.
- Information published by JCU or otherwise made available to students when applying may specify additional criteria to be considered in ranking applicants in order of merit if the number of applications exceeds a quota or other limit on the places made available for the course. Information provided by applicants during the application process and any other information obtained by JCU in the application process may be used by JCU to rank applicants in order of merit by reference to those additional criteria.
English Requirements
- Applicants of non-English speaking backgrounds must meet the English language proficiency requirements of IELTS 6 (no component lower than 6.0) / TOEFL (Internet Based) 74 (no component less than 18) / Pearson PTE Academic 52 (no component less than 52); or
- Satisfactory completion of James Cook University Singapore English Language Preparatory Program (ELPP); or
- Successful completion of other qualifications completed in the English Language deemed comparable to Australian standards within the last two years on a case-by-case basis
Advanced Standing
Students may apply for credit for previous tertiary study in accordance with the Credit Transfer Procedure. Credit will be granted only for subjects completed in the 10 years prior to the commencement of this course.
