Introduction
The Study Course in Statistical and Actuarial Sciences has been established at the University of Benevento since 1991. It represents a unique educational offer in Campania and in southern Italy. Similar study paths are present only in the universities of Rome "La Sapienza" and Trieste.
The Master's Degree Course in Statistical and Actuarial Sciences aims to train highly qualified professionals in the field of actuarial sciences and applied quantitative methodologies in the category of insurance, social security, and financial issues.
The specific contents of the course concern insurance techniques, risk theory models for the assessment and control of solvency (in the insurance, financial, and pension sector), corporate finance, analysis of financial products and markets, models demographic for the analysis of survival, the deepening of statistical and probabilistic techniques, the logic of the economy of uncertainty, as well as the technological tools used in them. The training plan is aimed at providing theoretical frameworks, insights into operational practices in application contexts, legal culture, and relevant regulations for the analysis of the financial, insurance, and social security markets.
The master's student will acquire mastery and critical autonomy in a well-defined framework of skills, to be expressed in a sector vital for the modernization of the country and with strong and continuous requests for high professionalism.
