Introduction
The Master in Agronomic Engineering arises from the need felt by the school community to continue the first cycle in this area that has shown good levels of demand by students who enter ESAS.
Thus, this second cycle will necessarily have to continue and deepen knowledge in areas relevant to the region and the country, while looking at the future of the sector at the same time.
The use of new technologies in agricultural production has the potential to increase efficiency and productivity and, in the long run, create more sustainable agriculture.
Today, and in the coming years, agricultural innovation will be supported mainly by artificial intelligence and " blockchains ", which, supported by sensors, cameras, and other devices that are interconnected, form a complex information network. The first, through the combination of algorithms, may, at the limit, allow robots to perform continuous and repetitive tasks with high efficiency. The " blockchain ", on the other hand, will revolutionize the way food reaches the tables, as it allows tracking throughout the chain, giving great support to the topic of biosafety. In addition, in the very near future, sustainability will increasingly become a topic of greater importance in the sector and will be able to command all the decisions of agricultural entrepreneurs.
The "future" of agriculture will require greater preparation on the part of professionals in the sector, who will have to master all these new technologies. These are very specific tasks that can completely escape the routine of the agricultural producer, but that represent new opportunities for technicians trained in these areas. Even so, technology will not replace, for now, the skills of a human being in the efficient management of agricultural holdings. The secret will be in combining the use of the right people, in the right place, and with the right technology.
